About Me
Hi! My name is Elise, and I am a counselor-in-training at the University of Central Missouri studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am supervised by Rochelle Pruett, and I am so grateful and excited for the opportunity to see clients here at Rooted!

I began my academic journey at UCM knowing I had a passion for the helping professions and mental health advocacy. My family’s and my own struggles with mental health prompted my interest in counseling. I wanted to understand these struggles in a deeper way and learn how to best help others experiencing similar challenges. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2022 and have been in my graduate program for three years. I strongly believe in the power of counseling, and I am committed to guiding clients toward their goals.

My approach to counseling is known as person-centered counseling, meaning I believe in following the client’s lead regarding their comfortability, growth, and counseling preferences. I believe that each and every client has unique strengths, challenges, and perspectives and that counseling is a collaborative process between client and counselor. I am available to see individuals, groups, and families. I have experience in play therapy, and I am open to clients of all ages. I am proud of you for taking the first step in realizing your full potential!
