Counselor in Training

About Me

I am currently a counselor in training in the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Fort Hays State University. As a counselor, I utilize a holistic person-centered approach when working with an individual, including the mind, body, and spirit. I incorporate insights from Adlerian theory, positive psychology, and mindfulness techniques.

My overall focus is on what counseling techniques and tools work best for you in order for you to reach your goals within counseling.

I hold both a Master’s degree in Sociology and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. I have worked in both the private and public sectors regarding social work, food scarcity, food deserts, health equity, community health, environmental health, and emergency management response. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to work for AmeriCorps within literacy and alongside community members addressing fetal infant mortality rates.

My Specialties: I have a passion for perinatal and postnatal mental health, motherhood, reproductive health, pregnancy loss, parenting, domestic violence, PTSD, trauma, and crisis.

Thank you for learning a little about me. I truly look forward to learning more about you and
how I can help you meet your therapeutic goals within counseling.
