About Me
Hello! I’m Lea (she/her), a counselor in training currently in my final year of graduate school. I hold an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Public Health from Illinois Wesleyan University, and will soon earn my master’s degree in Mental Health Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In my free time, I love spending moments with friends and family, cooking, walking my dog, Apple, playing pickleball, and exploring new podcasts.
My aim is to create an empathetic, judgment-free space where mutual respect, honesty, and growth can flourish. I understand that beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if it’s your first experience, so I’d like to acknowledge your courage in reaching out. As you consider this path, I hope the following quotes offer some comfort and inspiration moving forward.
-
“Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity. If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper and more meaningful spiritual lives, vulnerability is the path.” - Brené Brown
-
“Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” - Brené Brown
Thanks, and I look forward to meeting you! :)
