S-LMFT, MS in Marriage & Family Therapy

"Keep your eyes to the sky never glued to your shoes" - Malcolm McCormick

About Me

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development from the University of Central Missouri and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University. With extensive experience as a Behavioral Interventionist, I have worked with children in a school setting (K-5), gaining valuable insights into their development and well-being.

My expertise extends to the intricate dynamics of family systems, romantic relationships, and individual self-relationships. I have a charismatic and earthy spirit, finding joy in nurturing both my plants and meaningful connections. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I embrace a holistic approach to well-being, recognizing that nurturing our relationships is vital for a fulfilling life.

I view life and therapy through a systemic lens, emphasizing the importance of the connections that shape our experiences. I believe that understanding these systems is key to healing, fostering deeper understanding and connection.

In my practice, I utilize both Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method to provide a evidenced-based and comprehensive approach to relational healing while also incorporating insights from Terry Real, and David Schnarch (particularly his focus on differentiation and sexual intimacy).

Tharapy Beliefs:
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe that every person and relationship has the potential for growth and healing. My goal is to create a warm, safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. I know that reaching out for support can feel daunting, but it’s a brave and an important step. Embracing therapy is an act of self-love and courage. Whether you’re navigating challenges in your family, your relationship, facing personal struggles, or looking to strengthen your family dynamics, my approach is collaborative and compassionate.

Together, we’ll work to identify your strengths, enhance communication, and foster deeper connections. I focus on assisting couples, families, and individuals in overcoming relational challenges by promoting open dialogue, empathy, and emotional closeness. Utilizing evidence-based methods, we collaboratively identify patterns, build trust, and cultivate practical skills for healthier, more satisfying relationships. I am committed to helping you find pathways to understanding, resilience, and fulfillment. Everyone is worthy of happiness and peace of mind. My mission is to create a space where you can have those difficult conversations, to explore and understand the challenges you may be facing while strengthening connection with yourself and the people around you. I believe every journey is unique, and I’m here to walk alongside you, honoring your experiences and supporting your growth.
