About Me

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kansas State University, with a minor in Conflict Analysis and Trauma Studies, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fort Hays State University. I have spent the last decade dedicated to working with children and adolescents in a variety of mental and behavioral health settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, foster care, community mental health and psychiatric residential treatment facilities.

My passion lies in providing a safe and supportive space for children, adolescents, and adults navigating challenges such as trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, divorce, anger, identity exploration, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. I understand that seeking therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when struggling with feelings of being broken or beyond repair. My goal is to create an environment where you or your child feel truly seen, valued, and respected.

Working with Children & Adolescents

Children often experience big emotions without the words or tools to express them, leading to frustration, behavioral struggles, or withdrawal. My goal as a therapist is to help children and adolescents better understand their emotions, advocate for their needs, and build self-awareness and confidence. Through a trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate approach, I guide children in processing difficult experiences, building emotional regulation skills, and finding healing in a way that feels safe and empowering.

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation, which is why I emphasize fostering communication and connection between children and their support systems. I work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, and other important figures in a child’s life to strengthen relationships, promote understanding, and create an environment where the child feels safe, heard, and supported.  Additionally, I provide psychoeducation to caregivers, equipping them with tools and techniques to better support their child in both home and community environments. By empowering caregivers with knowledge and strategies, we can create lasting change that extends beyond the therapy room.

Working with Adults

As an attachment-focused and trauma-informed therapist, I help adults explore how their past experiences have shaped their worldview, relationships, and sense of self. Many of us carry patterns of thinking and reacting that were developed in response to early life experiences, and while they may have once been protective, they can also become barriers to growth and fulfillment.

In therapy, I provide a space to reflect on these patterns with curiosity rather than judgment. Together, we will explore the underlying beliefs and emotions that drive your responses, helping you cultivate self-compassion, deeper self-understanding, and meaningful change. My goal is to support you in breaking free from limiting cycles, building healthier relationships, and stepping into a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Methodology

I take an eclectic approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s needs by integrating Attachment Theory, Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotional Focused Individual Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and Play Therapy to support healing and growth.

My Commitment to You

Everyone deserves a space where they can be themselves without fear of judgment. In our work together, I will support you in processing difficult emotions, building self-awareness, and gaining tools to navigate life’s challenges. Healing is not about fixing what is “wrong” with you—it’s about embracing your whole self and learning to move forward with confidence and self-compassion.

If you or your child are looking for a therapist who will provide a warm, affirming, and empowering environment, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.
